KHARTOUM, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Sudan's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday condemned the terrorist bombings which took place on Tuesday at a hotel in Kenya's Mandera Province and left many innocent civilians dead.
"The foreign ministry expresses its strong condemnation of the terrorist bombings, which is a crime that contradicts all values and principles," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry expressed condolences of Sudan government and people to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Kenya.
It reiterated Sudan's full solidarity and support for Kenya in its efforts to preserve the security and safety of its citizens against all terrorist acts.
At least 12 people have been killed in the bomb attack on Kenya's border with Somalia and Ethiopia.
Kenyan sources were reported to have said that suspected militants from the extremist al-Shabaab militant group might have been behind the attack, but no party has officially declared responsibility of the incident yet.
On Oct. 6, al-Shabab militant group declared responsibility of a similar attack on a residential compound in Mandera in which six people lost their lives.
