YANGON, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology of Myanmar issued an orange alert Saturday, warning that a depression is forming in the Bay of Bengal and moving towards Myanmar which can intensify into a cyclone and is likely to enter the country on Sunday night.
According to the forecast, the depression is moving to East-North East direction and located at the area about 165 miles south-west of the Coco Island, about 295 miles south-west of Pathein and about 370 miles south-west of Yangon and about 190 miles north-west of Port Blair of India.
Due to the storm, rain with thunder is expected from Sunday to next Tuesday over parts of Magwe, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions and Mon, Rakhine and Kayin states.
Heavy rainfall is expected in some parts in those areas.
The depression can create huge wave with surface wind of 35 miles per hour along the seacoast.
