LISBON, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Portugal's DocLisboa, a major yearly documentary festival, opened its Heart Beat section on Friday with the film "Sounds of the Guetto" by British filmmakers Tim & Barry.
The film is about Portuguese firm Principe Discos, which gave international visibility to a Portuguese electronic music movement of African influence in the Portuguese suburbs.
Around 20 films under the Heart Beat section will be showcased, including Bowie, man with a hundred faces or the phantom of Herouville, by French director Gaetan Chataigne.
Other films include "Mapplethorpe: Look at the pictures" by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, and "Muhammad Ali, the greatest" by William Klein.
There will be a retrospective of the work of film director Peter Watkins during the festival.
The 14th edition of this festival runs until Nov. 30, and will be showcasing 259 films, from 41 different countries and regions, 31 of which will be in a competition. Enditem
