BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has hailed the Long March as a "stately monument" in the history of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), made the remarks at a gathering on Friday to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March.

BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- A convention was held on Friday to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March at the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing.
The Long March was a military maneuver carried out by the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army of the Communist Party of China from 1934 to 1936. Full story
