JAKARTA, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- A militant linked to the terror attack in Indonesia's capital in January this year received a suspension of 10 years imprisonment in a trial held on Thursday.

The sentence was issued by judge panel in West Jakarta Court.

The 23 year-old militant Dodi Suridi was indicted of violating Indonesia's anti-terror law. He was proved guilty for crafting the explosives used in the attacks that killed eight people including four from the attackers.

The sentence fits the jail term demand against Dodi Suridi launched by prosecutor in the previous trial.

Dodi Suridi accepted the sentence, saying it was a consequence of being a terrorist.

He was arrested on Jan. 15, a day after the attacks in a coffee shop located at the heart of Jakarta in broad day time conducted by militants who stated their allegiance to Islamic State (IS) group.

Indonesian authorities have arrested around 40 militants related to the attacks, reports said.

Earlier in the day, a 22 year-old man attacked police after sticking an IS symbol sticker in a police station in city of Tangerang, near the capital city.

He stabbed police who tried to arrest him and hurled explosives which failed to explode. Five police sustained injuries after being stabbed by the attacker.

The attacker, whom police identified a member of terror organization, was now treated in a police hospital after being shot by police in his feet during the attack.
