TIRANA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The economic sentiment indicator (ESI) in Albania continued to improve its trend, increasing by 8.5 points during the third quarter of 2016, the Bank of Albania said in its report published Friday.
The ESI trend improved as a result of increased confidence of business in all sectors of the economy, but on the other hand, consumer confidence fell slightly during this quarter, BoA said.
The confidence indicator in the industry sector (TBI) increased by 8.6 percentage points during the third quarter of 2016.
The confidence indicator in the construction sector (CCI) continued to grow in the third quarter, standing 11.2 percentage points higher than the previous quarter, official data showed.
A significant improvement was seen even in other balances related to financial status, employment, and expectations for the next quarter.
According to the Albanian central bank, businesses reported that they had used their production capacities at the level of 69.3 percent, a rate that was 1.8 percentage points higher than the previous quarter.
Meanwhile, BoA statistics showed that the confidence indicator in the services sector (SCI) continued its upward trend in the third quarter of this year.
