LISBON, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Portugal's Moda Lisboa fashion event under the theme "Together" came to an end on Sunday, impressing visitors at Lisbon's municipal square with eclectic summer collections.

Filipe Faisca's "Retrospective" collection was one of the highlights of the night.

Models stormed the catwalk show wearing a range of colors like blues, reds and greens and fabrics like cotton and silk. They also displayed hats and bags made with palm leaves by southern Portuguese artisans.

Faisca sums up the collection as reflecting "the past, present and future." The audience were surprised by red roses thrown into the air to finish off the show.

The 47th edition of Moda Lisboa kicked off on Thursday with "fast talks," a conference to discuss how fashion can change the world, with designers and experts offering their perspectives on challenges that can be solved "together."

On Friday, the annual project of Sangue Novo, which was roughly translated as "New Blood," took place, in which young designers who are either still studying fashion or recently set up their own brand, have a chance to showcase their work.

This year 22-year-old designer Joao Barriga won the Sangue Novo competition, with his collection of black, oversized clothing which he created during his course at Modatex in Lisbon, and won a 5,000-euro(5,570 U.S. dollars) scholarship to attend an eight-week workshop in Milan.

On Saturday, several established designers stormed the catwalk show. Dino Alves wrapped up the night with a collection touching on the theme of ecology as a way to reflect on the risk of humans' imprint.

Sunday also starred designers Olga Noronha, Patrick de Padua, Ricardo Andrez, Nadir Tati, Kolovrat and Luis Carvalho.

Moda Lisboa, which was launched in 1991, is one of Europe's oldest independent fashion event and takes place in Lisbon twice a year, attracting thousands of spectators.
