TIRANA, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- After several hours of heated debates, the Albanian parliament has approved five support laws of constitutional reform.
The approval of these laws on Thursday night has paved the way for establishment of new institutions of the justice system in Albania.
On the other hand, Albanian parliament postponed the voting on the draft law "on the governing bodies of the justice system," waiting for the parties to find a consensus in the coming days, parliament press office said.
Only one law received both the votes of majority and opposition lawmakers, that is on the establishment of a special anti-corruption structure, which took 122 votes in favor among 140 seats in the Albanian parliament.
The Albanian opposition refused to vote on the other four laws. After the voting in favor of the first law, the opposition lawmakers left the plenary session, accusing the majority of using the judicial reform as an instrument to capture justice system.
Therefore, the majority passed with its 86 votes in favor the other four.
The constitutional changes of justice reform were unanimously approved in July. The approval and implementation of the justice reform is seen as key steps to the opening of negotiations for Albania's integration to the European Union. Enditem
