KATHMANDU, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Nepal has ratified the Paris Agreement on climate change here on Tuesday, aiming to make a contribution towards combating global climate change.
The Paris Agreement on climate change was approved unanimously at a House session in the Nepali Capital Kathmandu.
Earlier Tuesday, Environment Minister Jayadev Joshi had tabled the Paris Agreement on the climate change at the House seeking its endorsement.
Nepal had signed the Paris Agreement under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in April in New York.
Climate negotiators of 196 parties had adopted the accord at climate change talks in Paris, France, on Dec. 12, 2015.
The Paris Agreement on the climate change will go into implementation post 2020, after the expiry of Kyoto Protocol, the only legally binding agreement to fight climate change.
