BEIJING, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Despite the fatigue influence, Petra Kvitova was all set for the tough battle against defending champion Garbine Muguruza in the third round of China Open.

The Czech, who moved up to 11th in the new world rankings, swept home hope Wang Yafan 6-4, 6-1 here on Tuesday, setting up a match with the second-seeded Muguruza.

"I was pretty tired. I had two days off, which I think helped me. For sure, was a good win today. We'll see how everything is going, like, in the next days.

"I think it was a great week in Wuhan. I think that gave me more motivation and confidence, which I really needed before," said Kvitova, who claimed her first title of the 2016 season in the Wuhan Open last week.

Kvitova, 26, said she is looking forward to have a great battle with Muguruza.

"Yeah, for sure it will be great match. I know how we fight in Stuttgart. It was a great match over there.I know how dangerous she is. I mean, she's really playing aggressive from both sides and she's serving real well and returning as well. That's why I think I really need to be ready from the first shot which I'm playing," the two times Grand Slam winner added.

With the victory in Wuhan, Kvitova has a big opportunity to get a spot of the 2016 WTA Finals in Singapore if she can continue the dominant form in Beijing.

"I mean, coming to Wuhan, I didn't really have any, like, feeling that I can qualify. I just played match after match. That's what I going to try here, as well," she said.
