Military chopper crash causes several injuries in Malaysia's Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- A Sikorsky S-61 "Nuri" helicopter carrying 14 military personnel crashed Tuesday morning onto the roof of a school building in Tawau of east Malaysia's Sabah, local police said.

Among the people onboard the plane, only the pilot was slightly wounded but another seven students and a local man at the SMK Balung school were injured and they have been sent to the hospital for treatment, said Tawau police chief Assistant Commissioner Fadil Marcus.

The helicopter is reported to have taken off from Tawau airport en route to Semporna when the pilot lost control of the aircraft.
