Thomas Perlmann, secretary of the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine, announces the winner of the 2016 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in Stockholm, Sweden, Oct. 3, 2016. Japanese scientist Yoshinori Ohsumi won the 2016 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine, the committee announced Monday.
