BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's relationship with China has witnessed steady development in the past decades andBrunei is looking forward to further promoting ties between the two countries, the country's Second Minister of Finance Hj Abdul Rahman said in an interview on Friday night.

Hj Abdul Rahman, along with other senior officials from Brunei's Ministry of Finance and Prime Minister's Office, attended the reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Brunei to mark the 67th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China which falls on Oct. 1.

September 30, 2016 also marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Brunei.

In an interview with Xinhua, Hj Abdul Rahman said that both the political and economic ties between the two countries have significantly grown in the past 25 years.

"We are looking forward to further promoting bilateral relations with China in all aspects in the future", he added.

Yang Jian, Chinese ambassador to Brunei, said that the Chinese side attaches great importance to its relations with Brunei, and China "is ready to work with the Bruneian side to facilitate the mutually beneficial cooperation so as to bring greater benefits to our two peoples".
