YEREVAN, Armenia, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- One of the priorities of the Armenian government is to adopt a law on movie production, said Armenia's newly-appointed Minister of Culture Armen Amiryan on Thursday.
"We need to give foreign investors and production centers the opportunity to shoot films in Armenia through granting them certain taxation privileges," Amiryan told local media.
This would become a good means to present Armenia to the outside world, he added.
The Ministry of Culture was planning meetings with movie industry representatives from Russian, Chinese and Iranian markets within the frameworks of the government's newly proposed ideas of reinvigorating the industry, he said.
Amiryan replaced Hasmik Poghosyan, who served on the position for nine years. A new government was formed earlier this month after resignation of former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
