SYDNEY, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- West Australian police have charged two Singaporeans for murdering an Australian citizen, whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase in Perth floating in the Swan River on July 2.
Local media reported on Thursday that Tiffany Wan, 25, and her father Ban Ah Ping, 68, were charged with the murder of her mother Annabelle Chen, an Australian citizen.
Chen was reported missing by another daughter two months after her death following an extensive public appeal from police to help identify her.
Ban and Wan will face Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday to answer those murder charges.
Chen had received 11 million U.S. dollars as part of her divorce settlement sometime in the 1990s when she and Ban broke up, according to the Singapore Straits Times.
WA Police have not confirmed Chen's place of birth but said deceased spoke Malay, Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
Chen moved to Australia in 1999 and had been living in Mosman Park, in Sydney from 2002.
It is believed Chen had three children.
Two of them are twin daughters who attended a leading private school in Perth, while Wan, Chen's alleged murderer is believed to be her youngest daughter.
