BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Vice Premier Liu Yandong on Wednesday called for the establishment of a global health governance system and for greater aid to be extended to developing countries to inform research into major public health challenges.

Liu made the remarks during the InterAcademy Partnership for Health 2016 Conference, in Beijing.

Epidemics, drug-resistant bacteria and diseases caused by unhealthy lifestyles, Lui said, are huge challenges to health and the international economy.

She said countries should join forces and collaborate on medical research, disease prevention, precision medicine, the training of medical talent, and allow innovation to guide the development of world health industries.

China is willing to improve cooperation with the global community in this regard, she said.
