TOKYO, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 struck off the north-east coast of Japan's Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan's weather agency said Thursday.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the temblor occurred at 1:33 a.m. local time and struck at at a latitude of 43.9 degrees north and longitude of 148.3 degree east.
The weather agency has not issued a tsunami warning or advisory as a result of this off-shore quake.
