BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday instructed the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Rocket Force to improve its strategic capacity and build a strong and modern rocket force.
Xi, who is chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks during an inspection of the PLA Rocket Force, as he congratulated the first PLA Rocket Force Party congress.
He described the force as a "core of strategic deterrence, a buttress to the country's position as a major power, and an important aspect of national security."
