JAKARTA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian authorities is ordered to step up measures to counter cyber crimes which has been in an alarming level in the country.
President Joko Widodo on Tuesday called authorities to settle the challenge of such crimes, which had risen 389 percent from 2014 to 2015.
"Cyber crime has become new challenges for government's institutions, particularly in our effort to strengthen our e-commerce business in the future," President Widodo told a cabinet meeting at the State Palace.
The president instructed authorities to boost consolidation among ministries which have protection devises or system in countering such crimes.
