HANOI, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam defeated Timor Leste 3-1 here on Monday at the 2016 AFF U-19 Youth Championship, topping Group A, followed by Malaysia, and securing a berth to a semifinal game.
Vietnamese players found the back of the net in the 13th, 81st and 90th minute, and a Timor Leste player made the sole goal for his team in the 89th minute. Earlier, Vietnam made a draw with Singapore, and beat the Philippines.
Group B comprises defending champion Thailand, Australia, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Indonesia.
The 2016 AFF U-19 Youth Championship, organized by the ASEAN Football Federation, lasts from Sept. 11-25 in the Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi. Enditem
