SKOPJE, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- The mining association of Macedonia expects the mining sector to operate in more favorable circumstances in the beginning of next year following Macedonia's general elections, the head of the mining association here Nikolajco Nikolov told reporters Monday.
According to him, the stable political situation and the fact that several mines, such as the cooper mine in Kazan Dol, lead and zinc mines in Zletovo and Toranic, are expected to be put into operation soon will make the mining sector in Macedonia improve its performance in 2017.
Nikolov noted a negative trend in non-metal industry while metal industry saw a decline of 9.1 percent from January to July 2016. Enditem
