BRATISLAVA, Sept.14 (Xinhua) -- Slovakia wants participants at an upcoming informal EU summit to focus on issues including migration, internal security and economy, a Slovak official announced on Wednesday.
After European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker delivered an annual State of the Union address to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Slovak State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Ivan Korcok said Juncker's report has confirmed the soundness of the summit priorities Slovakia set as it holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union.
"We all know where can we find ourselves after the Brexit referendum, but we have a bigger problem and that is the loss of confidence from part of the public," said Korcok.
Korcok believed the importance of the informal EU summit, to be held here on September 16, has not only been reflected in Juncker's report but also been referred to by many members of European Parliament, who has indicated their expectations from the summit.
