MADRID, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- At least 24 people from seven different countries were injured after a coach overturned in Barcelona Wednesday morning, local emergency services confirmed.
The exact cause of the accident is not yet known, as the coach, which was operated by Eurobus travel, overturned on the Ronda Litoral, ring road around the city at 3 a.m. local time (0100GMT) in heavy rain.
It was taking holidaymakers from the resort of Lloret de Mar to Barcelona's El Prat airport to catch early morning flights at the time of the accident.
Among the injured are thought to be five Spaniards, two Germans, four British, two Irish, one Pole and three tourists from Belarus and Lithuanians, with the driver of the vehicle was also among the injured.
The injured have been taken to several hospitals in Barcelona and it has been confirmed that 15 were suffering from minor injuries, while six have suffered moderate injuries and three are in a serious condition, although none of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
The accident caused the road to be closed for two and a half hours, but it was reopened at 5:45 a.m. local time (0345 GMT).
