TIANJIN, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Wang Dongfeng was appointed acting mayor of north China's Tianjin municipality, local authorities announced Wednesday.
The decision was made at a session of the Standing Committee of the Tianjin People's Congress, the city's legislative body.
Wang, 58, formally held posts in his native province of Shaanxi and was appointed the vice chief of Tianjin's Communist Party municipal committee in 2013, according to the official website of the Tianjin government.
Huang Xingguo, the former mayor of Tianjin who was also previously acting Party chief, is being investigated over allegations of "serious disciplinary violations." Deputy mayor Yin Hailin is also under investigation.
