TOKYO, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares dropped Wednesday with the Nikkei index ending at a roughly three-week low on weak U.S. stocks overnight as well as concerns over the Bank of Japan's negative interest rate policy.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 114.80 points, or 0.69 percent, from Tuesday at 16,614.24.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 8.25 points, or 0.62 percent, lower at 1,314.74.

Decliners were led by marine transportation, oil and coal product, and mining issues.

The day's turnover was about 1,767.2 billion yen (around 17.17 billion U.S. dollars).
