KIEV, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman on Monday outlined six priority areas selected by his government to receive budget funding in 2017.
"The key priorities are defense and security, the preservation of decentralization, road construction, energy efficiency programs and support of farmers," Groysman wrote on his Facebook page.
Another primary objective is to support the educational sector, Groysman said, adding that next year, the cabinet plans to increase the wages of teachers.
The draft budget, where the government's priority areas are enshrined, will be submitted to the parliament this week, Groysman said.
According to him, the document will be put for a vote in the parliament after consultations with lawmakers and experts.
The Ukrainian legislation stipulates that before Sept. 15, the cabinet should present to the parliament the draft budget for 2017, which includes targeted budgetary revenues and expenditures as well as predicted indicators of economic growth and inflation.
