PYONGYANG, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- The state media of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea announced Friday that the country has successfully carried out a nuclear warhead explosion test.
That marked Pyongyang's fifth nuclear test, and came eight months after the last one.
The move runs counter to relevant UN resolutions and the efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.
