LUSAKA, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Zambia's revenue collection agency said Wednesday it has suspended 15 of its officials for allegedly accepting bribes for clearance of goods.
The 15 Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) officials, from its Ndola office in the Copperbelt Province, allegedly received bribes from clearing agents to facilitate quick processing of goods entry, according to a statement.
The employees were suspended for dishonesty conduct that compromised the integrity of the revenue collection agency, it said.
The agency has also suspended 27 licenses of clearing agents over similar allegations and the matter has been reported to law enforcement agencies for further investigations. Enditem
