YINCHUAN, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Six people died and one was injured when an SUV plunged into the Yellow River early Saturday in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
The accident happened at 2:50 a.m. in Xingqing District in the regional capital Yinchuan, the local traffic police authority said.
The victims were identified as teachers from a local engineering school. They had reportedly driven to the river to have fun after dinner.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
