NEW DELHI, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the upcoming G20 summit to be held in China would provide him an opportunity to interact with world leaders on pressing international issues.
"During the G20 Summit, I will have an opportunity to engage with other world leaders on pressing international priorities and challenges," Modi said. "We will discuss putting the global economy on the track of sustainable steady growth and responding to emerging and entrenched social, security and economic challenges."
The summit will begin in China's eastern Hangzhou city on Sunday.
"Will be in Hangzhou, China for G20 Summit, where I will interact with world leaders on key global issues," Modi wrote on his Twitter account.
The Indian prime minister said he looked forward to a result-orientated summit in China.
"India will engage constructively on all the issues before us and work towards finding solutions and taking forward the agenda for a robust, inclusive and sustainable international economic order that uplifts the socio-economic conditions of people across the world, especially those who need it most in developing countries," he said.
"I look forward to a productive and outcome oriented summit."
G20 is the group of the world's 20 largest economies - Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union (EU).
The first G20 leaders' summit was held in Washington in 2008. The 10th summit was held in Antalya, Turkey, in November 2015.
