HANOI, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- An amusement park, which is inspired by Disneyland in China's Hong Kong, is going to be built in Vietnam's capital Hanoi.
The project of Kim Quy (Golden Turtle) Amusement Park, covering an area of over 100 hectares, is expected to hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday in Hanoi's suburb of Dong Anh district, local Tien Phong (Pioneer) online newspaper reported Thursday.
According to Nguyen Van Tu, head of Hanoi department of planning and investment, the park is funded by a local company. Although most services in the park are charged, the city will allocate a public area inside it for local citizens, said Tu.
Earlier in June, Hanoi chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said the city lacks parks, green trees and entertainment areas.
Kim Quy Amusement Park would be a beautiful and modern park, one of the 25 parks that would be built in the capital city in the next five years, said Chung, adding that the construction of 25 parks, together with planting more than 1 million trees, would bring greener places for city dwellers.
