KHARTOUM, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- the Sudanese Interior Minister revealed on Wednesday instructions to treat South Sudanese who have entered the country as refugees, official Sudanese Media Center (SMC) reported.
The orders targeted the South Sudanese who have fled to the country after the August 8 incidents in Juba, according to SMC.
The center reported the minister Babikir Digna has said "Southerners who have recently arrived in the country will be accommodated in refugee camps."
Digna urged the international community to meet the needs of these refugees, including enough supplies, local security and stability in the affected regions.
"Sudan is concerned with the stability in South Sudan as well as all neighboring countries," he added. "We don't want to see the deterioration of conditions in those countries."
Nearly 90,000 refugees from South Sudan have fled to Sudan since the start of 2016, according to the UN reports released mid-August.
Previous UN statistics showed as many as 198,600 South Sudanese have fled to Sudan after conflicts broke out there since mid-December 2013.
Most of South Sudan refugees are living in seven camps in Sudan's states of White Nile, East Darfur, West Kordofan and Khartoum.
