YANGON, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted northwestern part of Myanmar Tuesday morning, according to the Myanmar Meteorology and Hydrology Department.
With the epicenter being 38.4 kilometers northeast of Mawlaik township, Sagaing region, the quake jolted at 08:42:48 local time (02:12:48 GMT).
