RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- The USA's Tianna Bartoletta won gold in the women's long jump at the Rio Olympics on Wednesday with a personal best leap of 7.17 meters.
The 30-year-old current world title holder beat defending Olympic champion Brittney Reese of the United States by just 2cm.
Serbia's Ivana Spanovic, who led with two rounds remaining, took bronze with a national record 7.08m.
Germany's Malaika Mihambo was fourth with a personal best leap of 6.95m while Nigeria's Ese Brume was fifth with 6.81m.
It was Bartoletta's second Olympic gold medal. She was also a part of the USA's victorious 4x100m relay team at the London 2012 Olympics.
