RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Photos of Chinese diver Qin Kai proposing to his teammate He Zi at the Rio Olympics have gone viral via media reports, but they are not the only pair that have injected romance into the games.

When He saw Qin kneeling down in front of her on Sunday, she was surprised. Though an engagement coming at the poolside with a silver medal for the 3-meter springboard diving event was unexpected, she said "Yes" to her 6-year-long boyfriend and won plenty of congratulations.

A week before, a proposal between a Brazilian women's rugby sevens player and her girlfriend ignited the romantic flame of this year's game.

Marjorie Enya, a manager at Deodoro Stadium, proposed to rugby player Isadora Cerullo last Monday.

Although the Brazilian rugby team failed to enter the final match, the on-field proposal won them cheers from audience and reporters.

It's worth mentioning that gay marriage became legal in Brazil in 2013 and same-sex couples have been allowed to adopt children since 2010.

Another love story between same-sex partners during the Rio Olympics happened on Tuesday when Tom Bosworth, a British race walker, asked his boyfriend Harry Dineley to marry him after finishing the 20 km walking race.

Bosworth tweeted a photo of his proposal on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro with the caption: "He said YES!!!"

On the same day, U.S. athlete William Claye proposed to his girlfriend, hurdler Queen Harrison, in a crowd after just winning silver in the triple jump event.

They are the fourth couple getting engaged at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Congratulations to brave love birds at Rio 2016!
