ISTANBUL, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- One Turkish coast guard was killed and another went missing on Wednesday morning when their boat capsized in the Bosphorus Strait after crashing into a cargo carrier, Turkish media reported.
Five other coast guards were rescued in the accident that occurred off Istanbul's historic Sarayburnu neighborhood in Fatih district, Dogan news agency said.
It said the cargo vessel headed north to the Black Sea after the episode, and traffic in the strait was suspended.
The Bosphorus, linking the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara, is a key international shipping lane for oil and grain.
