Team Britain wins track cycling men's team sprint at Rio Olympics

RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Team Britain snatched their first track cycling gold of the Rio Olympics after setting a new Games' record to win the men's team sprint in the Rio Olympic Velodrome here on Thursday.

British cyclists Philip Hindes, Jason Kenny and Callum Skinner clocked a winning time of 42 seconds 440, a new Olympic Games record, beating Ethan Mitchell, Sam Webster and Edward Dawkings of New Zealand to the second place in 42.542.

France took the bronze by defeating team Australia.
