Detained Myanmars in Malaysia repatriated to home

YANGON, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- A total of 138 detained Myanmar nationals in Malaysia have been repatriated to home, official media reported on Tuesday.

Under the arrangement of the Kanbawza Brighter Future Myanmar Foundation, the first batch of138 detained Myanmar nationals, who have been issued Certificate of Identity, returned to Myanmar Monday on a Myanmar airliner from the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.

There are 2,294 Myanmar nationals detained for various reasons in 11 camps in Malaysia, the report said.

From 2013 to 2016, the foundation also sponsored the return of more than 3,000 Myanmar workers from Malaysia, more than 500 Myanmar fishermen from India and 510 trafficked Myanmar fishermen from Indonesia.
