JINAN, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Nine people were killed and 27 others injured when a coach collided with a truck in east China's Shandong Province on Friday afternoon, local police said.
Following tire blow-out, the truck hit a barrier and crashed into an oncoming coach, causing it to overturn at around 1:30 p.m. on the Jinan-Liaocheng expressway, according to Liaocheng City police.
The 49-seater coach had 48 passengers on board at the time of the collision. Five were declared dead at the scene while four more died on the way to the hospital.
All the injured are in stable condition.
The traffic on the expressway has resumed.
