NOUAKCHOTT, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's Embassy in Mauritania on Tuesday offered sports equipment as well as financial support to Mauritania's Kung Fu Federation, an official source has said.
The donation, whose value was not specified, was handed over to the president of Mauritania's Kung Fu Federation Salem Vall Ould Saleck by China's ambassador in Mauritania, Wu Dong.
The federation president said the donation will contribute to promotion and practice of the sport in Mauritania.
China has in the past supported sports in Mauritania through building of sports infrastructure and provision of equipment as well as technical assistance.
In 1960s, China constructed the first Youth Social Hall in Mauritania's capital Nouakchott and it equally constructed the Nouakchott Olympic stadium.
