KATHMANDU, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- About 102 people were killed while 277 households were displaced in the past one week in floods and landslides triggered by incessant monsoon rains in different 43 districts of Nepal, a government minister has said.

The whereabouts of 22 people were still unknown and 58 others were injured after the landslides triggered by torrential rainfalls in central, eastern and western region of the country, Defense Minister Bhim Rawal, who is also currently in-charge of home affairs said while addressing the Parliament session on Monday.

The worst-hit 10 districts by floods and landslides are namely Pyuthan, Gulmi, Palpa, Baglung, Makawanpur, Rupandehi, Kathmandu, Arghakhanchi, Dolakha and Sarlahi, according to home ministry.

Rawal said that Nepal army helicopters have been deployed to carry out relief and rescue operations in the flood-hit districts.

The minister also informed the Parliament session that the government has already allocated 750 million Nepalese rupees through home ministry to address the current havoc due to floods, landslides and inundation of settlements across the country.

Hundreds of houses have been waterlogged and many have been swept away in different parts of the country, especially in mid-western and eastern development region, according to local media reports on Monday.
