BUCHAREST, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Romania will contribute concretely to the efforts of the anti Islamic State coalition with 50 military instructors, Defense Minister Mihnea Motoc said Wednesday at Cincu military base, central Romania.
"We are committed under the approval of the Romanian Parliament, since February, to contribute concretely to the efforts of the anti Islamic State coalition in Syria and Iraq. Our contribution consists of a total of 50 instructors for special operations forces in Iraq, for military intelligence in Iraq," explained Motoc.
According to the minister, the entry of these troops in Iraq will be possible in early autumn.
Motoc attended the opening of the SABER-GUARDIAN-16 in Cincu, first major exercise hosted by Romania after the Warsaw Summit.
The exercise, which runs until Aug. 7, was attended by more than 2,700 soldiers from five NATO countries, Bulgaria, Canada, Poland, Romania and the United States and five Partnership for Peace member countries, namely Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Enditem
