WARSAW, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The 24th World Congress of Political Science, organized by the International Political Science Association (IPSA), is being held in Poznan,central western Poland, between July 23 and 28.
The theme of the Congress is politics in a world of inequality. The event gathers 2,800 political scientists and scholars.
"At the IPSA World Congress, our participants' first order of business will be to better understand our rapidly changing world and above all explore the new forms of inequity emerging in the early blush of the 21st century," Guy Lachapelle, secretary general of IPSA said.
Among the topics discussed there were the EU and the challenges of Brexit, the Mediterranean migration crisis, human trafficking, U.S. presidential campaign and cyberspace.
The Congress previously planned to be held in Istanbul. However, due to unstable situation in Turkey and concerns about the security of participants, it was eventually moved to Poznan.
