HANOI, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Total mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deals in Vietnam reached over three billion U.S. dollars in the first half of 2016, up 28 percent year-on-year.
The figure was released at a press conference held in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Monday on introducing contents and activities of the upcoming "Vietnam M&A Forum 2016."
The eighth annual event, co-held by Vietnam Investment Review (VIR) and local AVM Vietnam company, is slated to take place on Aug. 18 in southern Ho Chi Minh City with the theme "M&A in Wider Economic Boundaries," reported VIR.
In 2015, the market witnessed the highest figure of 5.2 billion U.S. dollars worth of M&A deals since 2012, said a research team under the Vietnam M&A Forum at the press conference.
The team forecast that in 2016, the M&A deals in Vietnam is expected to be valued at six billion U.S. dollars, registering a new record.
