BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory letter for the 100th founding anniversary of the Geological Museum of China.
The letter was read at an special exhibition held at the museum on Saturday.
The museum has made remarkable achievements in geoscientific research and helped spread geoscience knowledge since its establishment, Xi said in the letter.
"Scientific innovation and popularization of science are the two wings for realizing innovation-driven development," Xi added.
He urged the museum staff to remain committed to improving people's science literacy, focus on serving young people and build the facility into a better base for research and the popularization of science.
