MUNICH, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Munich police reported on early Friday evening that they were carrying out a large-scale operation in a Munich shopping center due to a shootout.
At the moment, the police ask people to stay away from public places, because the attackers are still at large.
"Situation around the mall is still unclear. There are several injured people," local police said on its Twitter account.
"Please avoid the area around the mall," Munich police said, adding "stay in your homes and leave the road."
Local media Focus Online reported that the police anticipate that there are several deaths.
The report of local media Antenne Bayern that there was a second shootout in the city center, has been denied by the Munich police who said there is no shootout in the city.
In addition, the police ask people to stop posting information of police operation on social media, otherwise it would help the attackers.
