Mali declares state of emergency following violence

DAKAR, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Mali on Wednesday declared a state of emergency for 10 days after an attack killed at least 10 soldiers and wounded dozens of others at a Malian military base in the central city of Nampala on Tuesday.

The government also announced a three-day period of mourning for the victims of the terrorist attack in Nampala.

The military base was attacked by unidentified militants, resulting in many deaths and injures.
