PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan, July 20 (Xinhua) -- A powerful blast hit a school in Baghlan-e-Markazi district of northern Baghlan province on Wednesday causing no loss of life, a local official said.
"The terrorists planted explosive device inside a classroom in a school in Baghlan-e-Markazi district which went off at around 11:30 a.m. local time but luckily all the students were out of class at the time of blast," a police official Mohammad Zabir told Xinhua.
However, he added that the school was badly damaged due to the blast.
The official also blamed enemies of peace, a reference to the Taliban for organizing the blast.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of Baghlan-e-Markazi district and hugely suffered couple of weeks ago, haven't commented.
