ANKARA, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Two Turkish police were killed and five others wounded in shooting attacks targetting on police officers on Tuesday in northern Turkish province of Trabzon, Dogan News Agency reported.
A police unit was conducting road control on Tuesday morning in Macka district of the province of Trabzon when unknown assailants opened fire from a forested area.
According to the report, two police officers were killed in the attack, while five officers and a civilian were wounded.
Meanwhile, a group of armed citizens headed toward the forested area to apprehend the assailants, as clashes were reported.
