GAZA, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Islamic Hamas movement, which rules the Gaza Strip, said Tuesday the Israelis who committed war crimes during the 2014 large-scale Israeli military offensive waged on the enclave will be prosecuted.
"Those who committed war crimes, won't escape from punishment," Hamas said in an emailed press statement marking two years since the last Israeli war waged on the Gaza Strip in 2014 for 50 days.
Hamas said that its power "is in a good shape" two years after the Israeli war.
"Those who committed war crimes against humanity won't be forgotten from our minds and won't be able to escape from punishment even if they are supported by the international institutions," it added.
On July 8, 2014, Israel waged a large-scale air and ground military offensive on the Gaza Strip, killing 2,200 Palestinians and wounding more than 11,000. The war caused large destruction in housing and infrastructure.
